UC is requiring employees who have patient contact to get the H1N1 and seasonal flu shots, provided for free by UCSF. Details were not forthcoming at a meeting with HR representatives.

Some of our members do not want these vaccinations, for various reasons. CUE has presented UC with a position acknowleging that a state law requires such refusal be made in writing.

UC wants those refusing immunization to wear a face mask at all times. CUE opposes the face mask requirement, and another to have colorful dots on ID cards indicating which shots you got.

Further, we have argued against employees being disciplined for failing to wear a face mask. We have received a response, but UCSF will not require face masks until December 15th. Hopefully, the issue will be resolved before then.
